‘Guras’ hails at world premiere in Czech Republic

The Nepali film ‘Guras’, which premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in Czech Republic, has received praise from the audience. Director Saurav Rai, who reached the Czech with the film, said that the audience watching the film was house full and the audience preferred to watch the film.

According to the film Czech time, the screening was held on Wednesday at 4 pm. Menuka Pradhan also came to Czech Republic to participate in the world premiere of this film. She said that this will be her first experience at an international festival and said that she plans to watch more films at the festival.

Told through the eyes of a 10-year-old girl who goes in search of a lost dog, the film presents the story of the changing economic and social relations of Darjeeling. The film has also tried to highlight the different concerns of parents and daughters through the characters of two generations.

‘Guras’ is produced by Ramakrishna Pokharel and Sanjay Gulati along with LowIQ Productions. In the film, Tulsi Khawas played the lead role as ‘Guras’ and Khagendra Lamichhane also acted in the film.

The technical work of the film was done in Mumbai. The cinematography of the film was done by Subal KR and the editing was done by Saurav Rai and Ankita Purkayastha. Ankita is also the sound designer of the film. She has previously worked in the Netflix series ‘Betal’, ‘Typewriter’, ‘Kota Factory’ and ‘Panchayat’ which aired on Amazon Prime.
