The teaser for Nepal’s first animated film, ‘Shalina’, was released on the OSR Digital YouTube channel on Sunday. The film tells the story of Princess Shalina. This film will be screened on Chaitra 16.
The film Shalina, based on a work of fiction, was shown by the Rainmakers Animation Academy. Shruti Shrestha, Sagin Maharjan, Abinash Singh Tharu, and Shirbha Manandhar created the graphic design for the Tejas Raj Joshi-directed movie. It is the first animated feature film made in Nepal using both Nepali language and technique. Aside from the background voice, no physical characters are used in it.
The voice actors in the film include Benisha Khatiwada, Aditi Gyawali, Ejme Kuinkel, Jharna Rai, Tejasraj Joshi, Sushil Nepal, Dev Neupane, Shiva Puri, Yuvin Pujari, Juna Thapa, Kumar Neupane, Prakash Adhikari, Roshan Bhatt, Sagin Maharjan, Abinash Singh Tharu, Shirbha Manandhar, Biraj Khadka, Lajana Shrestha, Shruti Shrestha, Sudishna Shrestha, Sunina Shakya and Krishma Rajakarnikar, among others.
