In a program organized under the chief hospitality of the President of the National Assembly, Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, five filmmakers were honored with the ‘Film Special Personality Award-080’. Among those who received the film special personality award were actor and director Ramesh Budhathoki, actresses Gauri Malla and Karishma Manandhar, actor Rabindra Khadka and producer and former chairman of the Film Development Board Rajkumar Rai.

In the program, which also conducted an interaction on the topic of Nepali films beyond the borders, the main speaker, Neer Shah, opined that the policy and quality development of Nepali films are weaker than those of the film workers and should be corrected. Chief Guest Timilsina said that the relevant agencies and organizations should think seriously about Nepali films, taking the view that initiatives should be taken to bring Nepali films to non-Nepali audiences.

According to Pyakurel, the organization’s president, they will develop specific action plans for the greater development and expansion of Nepali film and artists and will move forward in coordination with international organizations related to film. He said that they are also determined to earn the high respect of creators and the recognition and encouragement of new talent. There was a large presence of film and media people in the program.
