The government has put forward a plan to develop and expand film tourism. President Ramchandra Paudel made this announcement in the policy and program for the coming financial year 2080/81 presented at the joint meeting of the Federal Parliament on Monday.
It is also mentioned in the policy and program to promote the main attractive places of Nepal for international film shooting. It has also been decided to give Everest special honor to foreign nationals who have contributed to the promotion of Nepal’s geography, art, literature, language, culture and tourism at the international level.
It is said that the production of a state-of-the-art indoor film studio at Banepa in Kavrepalanchok will be accelerated. The Copyright Act 2059 is going to be amended to make it creator-friendly. Priority will be given to the production of historical films, documentaries and indigenous films related to people and events that struggle for social transformation.
