In the ‘Palika Pratibha-2080’ organized in Sakela Rural Municipality of Khotang, Ravin Diyali and Menuka Rai won first place in singing and dancing. The competition was organized by the Khotang Artist Society in collaboration with the rural municipality.
As part of the talent search campaign in all the ten municipalities of the district, the best three talents each in singing and dancing were selected through the final audition in Sakela on Tuesday. In terms of singing, Junu Rai was second and Raiser Rai was third, said Rupkumar Rai, president of Khotang Artist Society.
Similarly, Sujata Bhujel got second and Smarika Rai got third in dance. The first, second and third place participants in the competition were awarded Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively along with a certificate. The winners and participants were presented with prizes by Rai, Chairman of the organizing organization, Birsika Rai, Vice Chairman of Sakela Rural Municipality and Mahesh Rai, Chief Administrative Officer.
A talent selection program has been organized at all 10 local levels of the district with the slogan ‘Encouraging new talent, high respect for accomplished creators, searching for hidden arts and making the society well-cultured’. According to the organizer, ‘Khotang Pratibha-2080’ will be selected by participating in the district-wide competition, selected from the local level.
