Artists reached Baluwatar to pay tribute to Prime Minister’s wife Sita Dahal

The artists have paid tribute to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s wife Sita Dahal. On the initiative of the Nepal Music Association, more than two dozen artists reached the Prime Minister’s residence Baluwatar and expressed their condolences to the Dahal family.

Actors including Mohan Niraula, President of Film Artists Association, Chetan Sapkota, President of Musicians Association, reached Baluwatar on Friday morning. Actress Rekha Thapa arrived with her husband Balram Shahi. Director Shovit Basnet, singer Komal Oli, comedian Kiran KC, Sandip Chhetri, singer Prem Raja Mahat, General Secretary of Artists Association Sabin Shrestha and others were there.

They paid tribute to Sita Dahal’s picture by placing wreaths and expressed their condolences to Prime Minister Prachanda, daughters Renu and Ganga. “Sita Dahal is a special personality for the radical change of the country. She is an image of mother in Nepali society. She joined the revolution as an ordinary man” said musician Sapkota.

Director Shovit Basnet said that although he is not affiliated to any party, he is impressed by Sita Dahal’s contribution. Prime Minister’s wife Dahal died last Tuesday at Narvik Hospital in Kathmandu. On the same day, she was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat with national honours.
