Celebrity infatuation with AI images: Poster design and VFX can be a challenge

Famous Nepali celebrities are currently sharing pictures generated by artificial intelligence called AI on social media. Pradeep Khadka, Priyanka Karki, Swastima Khadka, Richa Sharma, Ana Sharma, Neeti Shah and others are sharing ‘AI generated’ pictures.

Anyone can create these pictures from AI’s app. Writing ‘With Artificial Intelligence’, Swastima is sharing an AI generated picture. From riding a bike to an action avatar, looking at these pictures gives a visual feel of a classic Hollywood film.

Pradeep shared a picture of him looking like an emperor and a warrior, writing “Keep the crown on your head and never let it slide to the ground. Priyanka shared five AI generated pictures saying, ‘I love these pictures.’ ‘Resham Filili’ famed director Pranab Joshi is posting the artist’s photo on Instagram by generating AI pictures.

Fans and other artists are also reacting to this picture posted by the celebrity. Asim Shah, MP of Rashtriya Swatantra Party and director of Swastima in the film ‘Dui Rupiyaan’, commented on the post of Swastima, ‘Hollywood is there.’ In response, Swastima wrote, ‘This matter had to be raised in the House’.

Although these pictures prepared by AI may seem attractive and romantic, it may pose a challenge to the technical aspect of Nepali films. AI generated images and scenes can bring challenges especially in technical work such as poster design and VFX. The question may arise as to how realistic the AI images are. Also, the incident of Nepali movie posters being stolen or affected is not new. Will AI help or discourage the work of poster design?

Some time ago, Balendra Shah (Balen), the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, who is also a rap singer, also gathered discussion by sharing AI generated pictures. The international media is predicting that there may be a job crisis in world films including Hollywood due to AI.
