Sukarma spread the magic of music in Europe

Nepal’s famous folk-classical musical group Sukarma has left for a five-week long European tour. In this tour, the band is playing Nepali folk and classical tunes in different cities of France, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.

Last June 3rd and 4th at La Ghand Pagoda du Bois de Vincennes in Paris, at the 18th edition of the Nepal Festival organized by the Nepali Cultural House, Sukarm gave a musical performance between Nepalese and French friends of Nepal living in Paris.

Deepak Adhikari, Ambassador of Nepal to France, while inaugurating the festival, opined that it was an exciting feeling to listen to Sukarma’s music before returning to Nepal after completing his tenure. Doctor Dhruveshchandra Regmi, sitarist professor of Sukarma, responded that it was a matter of pride to perform under the 10-meter-high Buddha statue in Europe, built by French sculptor Phwaswan Moze in the pagoda.

Sitar Dr. Sukarma group consisting of Dr. Regmi on Sitar, Umesh Pandit on Flute and Jagannath Dhaugoda on Tabla and Madal performed at the Samye Buddhist Temple in Brussels, Belgium after Paris.
