Memorandum of 6 film organizations to the Minister of Communications, one week ultimatum to fulfill the demand

6 film-related bodies have submitted a memorandum to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and the Film Development Board, asking them to address the national film industry in the budget immediately.

On Tuesday, Film Producers Association, Artists Association, Directors Association, Tribal Film Federation, Dance Association and Conflict Artists Association met Communication Minister Rekha Sharma at the Ministry and submitted a memorandum.

In the 13-point memorandum submitted to Minister Sharma, as the national film sector has been neglected in the budget, it has been demanded to provide the necessary budget through the revision process immediately. The memorandum also mentions that if a concrete decision is not given within a week, a phased movement will be initiated.

The minister has said that he is positive to fulfill the demands. If the demand is not met within a week, we are preparing to go on strike,’ said Nawal Khadka, president of the Producers Association, ‘the form of the strike will be decided after that.’

Before submitting the memorandum, the organization held a meeting on Tuesday and decided to go on strike if the demand is not met. The memorandum submitted to the Ministry has also been submitted to the Council of Ministers and the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Finance, the Film Development Board and the District Administration Office.
