The best actor and cinematographer award received by the film ‘Halkara’, which is to be screened on the 29th of Baisakh, at the ‘Worldfest Houston International Film Festival 2022’ held in America, has been handed over to Nepal. Mahesh Tripathi won the best actor award and Chintan Rajbhandari won the best cinematography award from this film.
The award was presented during a program held at Oscar International College on Thursday. Oscar College Principal Ramraja Dahal, Cinematographer Rajesh Shrestha, Oscar College Academic Director Manojbabu Pant, Academic Coordinator Navnidhi Dahal and ‘Halkara’ director Bikram Sapkota handed over the awards to Tripathi and Rajbhandari.
Halkara also won the best film award at the festival. The award was received by director Sapkota at the festival itself. The festival sent the awards of Tripathi and Rajbhandari to Nepal through post. On receiving the award, Mahesh said that if he does good work, he is confident that he can compete at the world level and succeed.
The film, made in collaboration with Caliper Studio and Icefall Productions, features Mahesh Tripathi along with Binita Thapa Magar, Sharda Giri, Roshni Karki, Pashupati Rai, Umesh Tamang, Vidya Karki, Prakash Dahal, Bishnubhakta Adhikari, Deepak Chhetri and others. The writer and editor of the film is director Sapkota himself. It is co-written by Biplav Prateek and Akash Baral.
