If interests are not met, this government will fall by itself: Congress leader Mahar

Central member of Nepali Congress Nainsingh Mahar has said that the Congress has supported the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal for national consensus.

Addressing the first conference of Congress Ghorahi sub-metropolitan Dang, Leader Mahar opined that the Congress should be strong to strengthen democracy.

After the next five years, the Congress should go to the polls alone and bring two-thirds of the votes alone. Only then will the foundations of development and democracy in Nepal become strong.’ He said.

He argues that the Congress should no longer engage in power games. He recalled that a few days ago a person set himself on fire in front of the Parliament building and said that it was an example of extreme disappointment towards the government.

“There are people with different ideas and principles in the current government. There is a fight between them. No one needs to topple this government. If there is no self-interest among themselves, the government will collapse in a short time,’ said Mahar, so for the Congress, the prime minister and the president are the people. You have to work among them for five years.’

He said that the Congress had supported the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda for the sake of national consensus and accused the unstable elements of trying to misinterpret it.
