The premier of the Dayahang Rai and Diya Pun starrer film “Dayarani” took place in Kathmandu on Thursday before its official release. The premiere took place at Big Movies, and a number of celebrities attended.
At the premiere were actors Diya Pun and Bijay Baral, director Maotse Gurung, and members of the cast and crew of the film. Dayahang was not in attendance due to the filming schedule. Also, there were a number of celebrities in attendance, including KeKi Adhikari, Priyanka Karki, Rensha Rai, Dilip Rayamajhi, Shilpa Maskey, and Rambabu Gurung.
The Gurung community honored filmmaker Maotse Gurung by wrapping a whip around his head, and artists from the village performed a tableau during the premiere. Pritam, the first director of a Gurung film, was also there.
This film is ready for nationwide screenings starting Friday. Overall, the film received a positive response from the premiere. It was also premiered in Pokhara a few days ago.
