The 3rd Nepal Rural Film Festival (NERUFF), organized by Celebrity Nepal, is going to be held in Ramechhap municipality in the upcoming month of Baisakh. The festival’s organizer, Celebrity Nepal, has announced that registration is now open for those who want to participate in the festival.
The festival will feature local documentaries, feature films, short films, and village-set vernacular films. Films chosen by the jury will be screened using cutting-edge technology, and the top films will receive awards, according to Raghunath Sapkota, president of the festival.
Films based on original Nepali rural stories will participate in the festival, which is organized with the goal of promoting Nepali films to the rural market along with tourism promotion. The main objective of the festival is to attract the audience towards Nepali original films and make them habitually watch films regularly; to bring the films made on rural stories to the world; and to promote the language, art, culture and tourism sectors of the local area.
The festival took place for the first time in Laprak in the Gorkha district and for the second time in Bhakundebesi in the Kavre district. Film director Kamal Ecchai Magar will coordinate the third edition, which will be hosted by Jagaruk Yuwa Club Ramechhap.
