The Nepali film ‘Halkara’ will represent the country at the upcoming Oscar Awards. A Bikram Sapkota-directed film has been chosen as the foreign feature category’s top pick by the Nepali Oscar selection committee.
Together with Halkara, applicants for this category included Dakini, Bulaki, Neerfool, and Bagan. Raju KC, the committee’s chairman, has stated that the chosen movie will be delivered to America by October 1.
Icefall Productions presents the films, which star Mahesh Tripathi and Binita Thapa Magar in the lead roles. Through the character of a postman, the director has presented the story of the social dimension of foreign employment in the film. The 96th Oscar Awards will be held on March 10 in Los Angeles, California.
