The body of singer and actor Robin Tamang will be cremated on Sunday. Ashish Parajuli of Robin’s management group informed that according to the Tamang tradition, the last rites will be performed in Swoyambhu. Before that, Robin’s body will be kept from 10 am to 1 am for last respect.
Robin has two daughters. As they live in France, it will take time to arrive in Nepal and accordingly, the funeral has been scheduled for Sunday. Tamang was found dead at his residence in Budanilkanth Chiseni on Tuesday evening. According to the preliminary post-mortem report, his death may have been due to heart problems.
The 60-year-old Tamang, who is also the singer of Robin and the New Revolution, has been acting in films. His contribution is considered important in connecting Nepali rock singing with the society. Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress also issued a statement saying that the death of Tamang has caused irreparable damage to the Nepali music industry.
