“Nepal Tourism Film Festival” will be held in Hong Kong

The winning 10 videos of the ‘My village my place Video Challenge 2023’ will be screened in Hong Kong. It was informed in the press conference held in Hong Kong that the video is going to be shown at the ‘Nepal Tourism Film Festival’ that is going to be organized there.

According to We Will Rise Foundation, this program named ‘Nepal Tourism Film Festival’ will be held in other countries after Hong Kong. In the press conference, the president of the organization, Tulsi Kumar Gurung, said that the festival is going to be held with the aim of promoting the tourist spots which are overshadowed despite having abundant tourism potential.

He said that this film festival will help to expose new places of tourist importance, art and culture in the corners of Nepal to the world. Pointing out that Nepalis living abroad have also played an important role in the promotion of Nepal’s art culture and tourism, he also informed about the plan to add ‘My Village, My Place International’ category from the next edition.

The winning video will be screened on the evening of Asadh 31st at Henry Ji Leong Hall, Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong. He asked to join hands in organizing the festival. Foundation director Nirmal Shrestha said that it can play an important role in giving recognition to Nepali documentary makers in the international market and opening the door to more possibilities.

Team Duluwa’s ‘The Northern Wall’ won the title of Best Video of the Year in the ‘My Village, My Place’ Video Challenge 2023. Among the total 10 categories of the competition, ‘Mayuri Chaal’ won the ‘Judges’ Choice Award’, Team Duluwa’s ‘Mero Village Taksera’ won ‘Most Energetic Video Maker’, ‘Future Star of the Year’ – Adarsh ​​Pandey, ‘Most Potential Destination’ – Sandakpur Rural Municipality, Best Editor’ – Akash Dhimal, ‘Best Script – Voice Over’ – Ruman Thapa, ‘Best Story Concept Direction’ – Suresh Kumar Mukhia, ‘Wunam Video Maker of the Year’ – Garima Bhandari and ‘Best Cinematographer’ – Santosh Malekar won.

The festival has the collaboration of Hong Kong Nepali Federation, NRNA Hong Kong, Miteri Sewa Samiti Pokhara Hong Kong, Nepali Club Hong Kong, Om Namo Buddha Mother Group, Konmai Ghotane Gurung Samaj, Nada Samaj Hong Kong, Rise Media Network and Nepal Tourism Board.
