The National Folk and Dohori Geet Foundation has condemned the attack on singer Prakash Saput at his concert in Romania. President Rita Thapa Magar issued a statement on Monday and said that the incident has been brought to the attention of the diplomatic mission and the European branch of the establishment.
It is said that serious attention has been drawn to the incident of throwing a bottle at the singer Saput, who is also the secretary of the organization. “The morale of the artists has fallen due to such incidents, and all the Nepali artists have been hurt by such unwanted activities by the Nepali brothers,” the statement said.
The organization has also requested the organizers to prevent the incident from happening again, demanding strict action against the culprits. According to Nepali time, on Monday morning in the European country of Romania, during a musical program organized by the Nepali community, a beer bottle was thrown at Saput from the audience gallery. Saput’s face suffered minor injuries in this incident. It is said that the program was canceled for half an hour and then the program resumed.
The culprits of the event, named Yaad Nepali Music Festival Part-2, were immediately arrested by the organizers. Singer Preeti Ale also participated in the event. Nepali musicians are expressing their objections regarding this incident.
