Nawal’s ‘Kandetar’ to come on Mahashivaratri

Directed, produced and acted by Nawal Khadka, the movie ‘Kandetaar’ will be released on the day of Mahashivaratri this year. Actor Khadka has announced the release date of the film on the 25th of Falgun through a poster on the occasion of his birthday on Sunday. Nawal chose that date as the 25th is a public holiday of Shivratri and also falls on a Friday. 

Last Baisakh, the Censor Board objected to some of the scenes and dialogues of the film and did not give a pass certificate for screening. The Censor Board gave the certificate after Nawal, who raised this issue in the media for a few days, removed the objectionable dialogues and scenes. Director Khadka says that the film raises the issue of installing barbed wire on the Nepal-India border.

Along with Nawal Khadka, Gaurav Pahari, Rebika Gurung, Surabina Karki, Muralidhar, Prem Subba, Parashuram Chaudhary, Sanjay Khatiwada, Rajendra Bhagat, Pannalal Sigdar, Prakash Giri, child actors Nadia Khadka, Shaniya Khadka and others are also acting in the film. The movie is directed by Nawal Khadka and choreographed by Kabiraj Gahatraj. A teaser and a song of the film have already been released. 

Produced by Makiko Rai and Anju KC along with Nawal and executive produced by Satya Kala Rai, ‘Kandetar’ has music by Mani Thapa and Deepak Sharma, cinematography by Saurabh Lama, editing by Tara Thapa ‘Kimbhe’ and Bande Prasad. Director Nawal has requested the government to take diplomatic initiatives for the film to be given financial subsidy by the state, tax exemption, solo screening in the country and screening abroad.
