Nepali film ‘Silent Echo’ won the Critics’ Choice Award in Bollywood

Kathmandu- ‘Aina Jhyalko Putli’ and ‘Halkara’ famed producer Ramakrishna Pokharel’s new short film ‘The Silent Echo’ has won two important categories at the prestigious Indian Critics’ Choice Awards 2023. The film won the Best Short Film and Best Cinematography awards at a ceremony held in Mumbai this week.

Bollywood actor Rajkumar Rao presented the award to producer Pokharel and cinematographer Zohar Musabhir. This award given annually by the Film Critics Guild of India is considered prestigious in India. This film is also a joint project of producers from Nepal, India, Bangladesh and France.

Directed by Suman Sen, the film tells the story of four teenagers from a remote village playing music in a small bus abandoned on a cliff. When a band competition is organized in the neighboring village, they gather money and courage to participate.

The length of this film, shot in Mustang, is 15 minutes.
