Indian film director Chandra Prakash Dwivedi has said that he wants to see Nepali actors in Indian films.

In an interaction organized by Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center on Sunday evening, he said that there are many similarities between Nepal and India in terms of language and culture and opined that Nepali actors can work in the Indian film industry.

“In India, there are many actors who have come from different countries and established themselves in the film industry,” he said, “but the number of Nepali actors is small, while our language and culture are compatible to a large extent.”

He recalled that a long time ago, he planned to bring Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan to Nepal for shooting.

“I also looked at some locations to bring Amitabh Bachchan to Nepal for shooting, but I thought that it would not be possible to shoot because of the crowd at the airport,” he said, “Now I am wondering if I was wrong.”

He said that he came to Nepal in 2004 and mentioned about Chitwan in an Indian movie. Dwivedi directed the teleserial ‘Chanakya’ which was aired in 1991. He also wrote and acted in Chanakya. In the interaction, he discussed about three decades of experience related to movies.
