Film Development Board’s decision to release ‘Prasad 2’

Kathmandu- The film ‘Prasad 2’ has been confirmed to be released next Friday. The all-party meeting held at the Film Development Board on Monday agreed that the film will be given censor permission. Lawyer Tarakumar Shrestha said that two decisions including censorship were made in the meeting.

After the censoring, the five organizations related to the film, made up of producers association, film association, technical association, director’s association and artist association, have agreed to deposit the amount of the film’s run into the account of one of the organizations. Accordingly, on the basis of priority, the homestay, technicians and producers of Kaski’s Luang village will get the payment.

The board chairman Bhuwan KC, all the complainants, director Sudarshan Thapa and representatives of the Film Association participated in the meeting. Police were also stationed outside the board while the meeting was going on. The police is looking for producer Thapa after an arrest warrant was issued in connection with financial transactions and banking offences.

However, producer and complainant Keshav Pandey disagreed with the decision saying that he will not allow ‘Prasad 2’ to be screened until he gets the money. He left the meeting expressing his disagreement. After the discussion that the censors should not be stopped and should be demonstrated, I left by expressing my disagreement. It was only discussed that my film should be screened in the board. There was no mention of how to collect my money. That’s why I am in favor of not allowing this film to be screened. Therefore, I will take another legal path.

Pandey said earlier, ‘There will be no body here to listen to the producers who are in trouble like us. I am new. They didn’t even listen to us. A new producer like us is made here by a rooster.’ Complaints were filed against Thapa for the transactions of all organizations including the board. As the day of release approached, the board called a meeting with the complainant to discuss the matter.
