Mohan Niraula, who has registered his candidacy for the post of president in the election of Nepal Film Artists Association, which is scheduled to be held on Chaitra 4, has announced the agenda along with his panel announcement. After the presidential candidate Regina Upreti announced the panel on Wednesday, Niraula held a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday and announced the candidates of his panel from deputy to member.
From his panel, Dhan Bahadur Bomjan (DB) and Kabita Gelal are the vice presidents, while Sabin Shrestha is the candidate for the general secretary. He was an aspirant for the post of president. However, later Sabin supported Niraula as the president and submitted his candidacy for the general secretary position. Niraula panel has Rameshwor Burlakoti as secretary, Sunil Katuwal as treasurer and Pavitra Acharya (unopposed) as co-treasurer.
The candidates are Uddhav Prasad Bhattarai, Gopal Dhakal, Sheetal KC, Pawan KC, Roshan Shrestha, Punya Prasad Pandey, Pukar Bhattarai, Namrata Kharel, Ram Sharan Jangam, Babita Dhakal, Sunil Kumar Puri, Gopilal Tamang, Nirmal Syangtan and Sameer Lama. Mohan Niraula has made the agenda of building and office management of the association, social security, moral development of artists.
Mohan, who started his acting career in the year 2040 with the film ‘Ardash Nari’, has acted in ‘Behuli’, ‘Tilahri’, ‘Swarg’, ‘Nata’, ‘Arshiwad’, ‘Janm Mirtyu’, ‘Ajambari Nata’, ‘Raavan’, ‘Alvida’. He has acted in more than 100 films. At one time he was also active in drama and directed the films ‘Sampathi’, ‘Pukar’ and ‘Janmabhoomi’. Currently, he is the Vice President and Spokesperson of the Artist Association.
