Prithvi Bahadur Shah among 6 sent to court custody for further investigation

Kathmandu, March 14

He Kathmandu District Court has sent six people including controversial businessman Prithvi Bahadur Shah to judicial custody in relation to various criminal cases filed against him.

The Central Bureau of Investigation Nepal Police who investigated the charges filed against them says the court nevertheless released one of the defendants, Binita Tamang, a resident of Bhaktapur, on bail of Rs 50,000.

Shah’s brother, Bijaya Bikram Shah, and his assistants Anup Khadka, Chakra Bahadur Khatri, Rukmangad Kaphle and Ranga Bahadur Saud have been taken into court custody.

The government has filed four cases (fraud, cooperative fraud, organized crime, and document forgery) against Shah and his team.

Meanwhile, the CIB says 13 people identified as accused in the cases remain at large.
