KATHMANDU, February 2: Malaysian Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu tonight on a three-day official visit to Nepal. It is scheduled to arrive at 7:00 p.m. today, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During his visit, the Malaysian Home Minister will hold meetings with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is also in charge of the Home Ministry and DP Aryal, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security.
Nepal and Malaysia are likely to reach a labor agreement.
In recent years, Malaysia has faced a shortage of workers, and Nepal could be a hub for solving the problem. After the economy gradually improves, Malaysia needs about 500,000 workers. And, for Nepal, Malaysia has been a top overseas employment destination for a long period of time.
Furthermore, Malaysia expects to welcome a large number of foreign workers in the coming days and accordingly, Home Minister Ismail will visit Nepal.
Currently, there are around 300,000 Nepalese citizens in Malaysia who came there in search of employment.
