We have not thought about a separate power equation in Madhesh: CK Raut

4 January, Kathmandu. Chairman of Janamat Party CK Raut has said that they do not want to create an equation opposite to that of the federal government in Madhesh.

‘We have not paid attention to the new power balance. In the union and in the state too,” President Raut said to Online News. Contrary to the power equation created in the formation of the federal government, the Congress has taken the initiative to form a government in Madhesh province and the talk that Janmat Party can participate in it is wrong, he said.

However, President Raut said that the matter of who will lead the government of Madhesh state is yet to be agreed upon. There is a verbal agreement between the ruling parties in Madhesh Province to allow Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and Janmat Party to lead the government of Madhesh Province for half term. The issue of who will lead first has yet to be decided.

54 seats are needed to form a government in the 107-member Madhes state assembly. UML has the most 23 seats. Congress has 22 seats, Jaspa 16 and Janmat 13. There are 9 MPs each from the Maoist Center and LOSPA, 7 MPs from United Socialist Party, 1 MP each from RPP and Civil Immunity. There are three independent MPs.
