The National Folk and Dual Song Foundation organized the 7th National Running Shield Dual Dohori Competition, which took place in Charaudi, Dhading.
In all, 48 groups took part in the competition. The Central Koteshwar-Baneshwar Committee’s Dilip Thapa Magar and Bima Kumari Anuragi won the competition. In second place were Tek Raj Bhandari and Tara Thapa from the South Korea branch; in third place were Nishan Bishwokarma and Sapana Roka from the Japan branch; and in third place were Bijay Baniya and Sabita Pariyar from the Anamnagar Committee.
Gita Sejuwal of Jumla was the best new singer; Robin Nepali of Palpa was the best new singer; Jamuna BK of Buspark Samiti Rato was the talented singer; Ratna Shrestha of Buspark Samiti was the best costume; Asha KC of Bagmati Province was the best costume; Lakshmi Basnet of Lumbini was the best creative singer; Sharmila Shrestha of Valley Coordination Committee was the disciplined singer; Anil Sunar of Kathmandu was selected as a disciplined singer; Suman Khadka of Baglung was selected as the best singer; Trishna Budha Chhetri of Sundhara Samiti was selected as the best singer.
The first prize was Rs 3 lakh, the second prize was Rs 2 lakh, the third prize was Rs 1 lakh, and the consolation prize was Rs 50,000.
The closing ceremony was held under the chairmanship of the central president, Rita Thapa Magar and the chief hospitality of the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati.
