Actress and model Sumi Moktan has tied the knot on Friday. She married her lover Bibek Rawal at the five-star Solti Hotel in Kathmandu. They have an inter-caste marriage. Bibek is a Hindu and Sumi is a Buddhist. They also got married according to the traditions of both religions. Before marriage, the couple was in a relationship for about 4 years.
According to Buddhism, they met in December and got engaged in Mauritius last January. Sumi has acted in more than a dozen music videos as well as films like ‘Sarauto’, ‘Jhyanakuti’. Her action in ‘Sarauto’ was appreciated. She is considered to be adept at dancing and is also the winner of Nepal’s dancing reality show ‘Dancing with the Stars’.
Along with acting, Sumi has also ventured into the coffee business. Through a company called ‘SM Coffee’, which is a sister company of Everest Coffee, she has exported organic coffee produced in Nepal to foreign countries. Sumi’s husband is a businessman. Bibek, who is the promoter and director of Bhujung Hydro with a capacity of 7.5 MW, has also invested heavily in other sectors.
