The seventh edition of the Nepal-America International Film Festival, which is organized annually in America, will be held from June 20 to 23, 2024. According to the organizing organization, applications have been opened from all over the world for the festival to be held in the state of Maryland and the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.
The Nepal-America Film Society, a non-profit organization established in the state of Maryland, USA, has been organizing this festival every year since 2017.
Feature films, documentaries, short films, animations and films of all genres will be screened at the festival. Independent films from countries like Nepal, America and South Asia are given top priority at the festival. It is reported that in order to support local films from Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, films will also be screened under the “DMV Close-up” format. The films that have been screened since the festival’s founding in Florida as part of the “Global Peace Film Festival” are reportedly also on the schedule for this year.
The judging committee of the festival will select the films from the applications for screening. Among them, the best films will be awarded with various awards. During the festival, there will be panel discussions and workshops on film, culture and technology. Nepal-America Film Society has been organizing this festival every year since 2017.
