After Saugat Malla, actor Ramesh Upreti has been roped in for the lead role in the film ‘Kotparva’. A written agreement was signed between the producer and actor Upreti on Monday. After being confirmed in the film, Ramesh said that he has been roped in for one of the top roles.
This is Ramesh’s comeback film after ‘Aishwarya’ which was released four years ago. I have read about the history of Kotparva. The role I am going to do is very important,” said Ramesh about the portrayal of the character, “Of course this role is challenging. We will do our homework for this.
Ramesh has recently signed an untitled action film to be directed by Sabin Tolangi.
Actor Malla was also signed for the film last week. There is talk of actress Namrata Shrestha in the lead female role, but it has not been decided. The shooting of the film is set to start from next Chaitra. It is said that the screenplay, which was written after three years, will depict an important political event in the rise of Jung Bahadur Rana.
The film is going to be made under the banner of Rimesh Adhikari Films Production Pvt Ltd and Shreet Films and Entertainment. Produced by Chhotelal Rauniyar and Sharda Khadka Aryal, the screenplay is written by Mahesh Dawadi. Rajendra Dhakal and Rajaram Suwal are the co-producers of the film and Shivchandra is the executive producer. The production designer of the film is Pushkar Lama.
