While ‘Jari ‘ has so far collected more than Rs 13 crore at the domestic box office, all the three films that have been released since Friday have had a weak opening in the first weekend (Friday and Saturday). Looking at the box office data of the Film Development Board, Nai Nabhannu La 6, Prasad 2 and Kaidi ko Patra have earned less than expected.
It is seen in the box office data of the board that the two-day earnings of ‘Nai Nabhannu La 6’, which has a brand value, is around 15 Lakh rupees. This earnings is the lowest opening of the ‘Nai Nabhannu La’ series. The effect of weak word of mouth is evident in the opening of the film.
The two-day earnings of ‘Prasad 2’, which received positive reviews, is around 30 lakh rupees. According to the data of the board, this film which opened at 17 Lakh on Friday earned less than 13 Lakh on Saturday. But the reviews of this film directed by Sudarshan Thapa are positive. It seems that the film will pick up with the help of word of mouth, but due to continuous rains, it seems that the earnings of ‘Prasad 2’ have been affected.
Another Nepali film ‘Kaidiko Patra’ which was released on Friday has been screened in theaters since Sunday. The first weekend earnings of this film is less than one lakh rupees.
