Director KL Peedit and journalist and producer Rabi Adhikari have been appointed as members of the film development board. The cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to appoint them as board members for 2 years. Both have received the appointment letter from Talukwala Agency Information Ministry. The Peedit is a resident of Dang, while the official’s permanent home is Chitwan.
Peedit, who is also the former president of the Dang branch of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, has directed Tharu language films ‘Bhuiyar’ and ‘Lavajuni’. In the year 2077, the Film Development Board also appointed him as a member of the Feasibility Study Committee for the construction of a film shooting location in Lumbini Province. Peedit is also a songwriter. He has released a song album called ‘Ahawan’.
Likewise, the CPN-Maoist close media officer has been active in entertainment journalism for the past decade and a half. He is also the current president of Film Journalists Association Chitwan branch. Adhikari, who is also the producer of the film ‘Panchayat’, which was recommended by Nepal for Oscar, was the executive producer of the film ‘Babu Kancha’. One more member has yet to be appointed to the board.
