Jasita who could not get rid of ‘Ruby’ character

Jasita Gurung, who emerged as a promising actress from the film ‘Lilibili’, has not been seen on the big screen for three years. After the film ‘Love Station’ which was released in 2076, she signed a contract with the film ‘I Am Twenty One’. Since then, Jasita has spent her body, mind and time for this film. Apart from ‘Anti-Hero’, she has not signed any other film contract. 

Her long journey is coming to an end. ‘I Am Twenty One’ will be screened from Baisakh 21. Gurung is playing the role of ‘Ruby’ in the film. She played the role of a young woman struggling to become a dancer. After giving time to one film for three years, she has not yet been able to come out of ‘Ruby’ character.


Jasita, who used to dress up as ‘Ruby’ even in public events, says that she too cannot leave ‘Ruby’. She says, ‘I dream with myself. Even in the film, the character ‘Ruby’ dreams within herself. That’s why ‘Ruby’ is close to me. I can never leave Ruby.’ After working in this film, Jasita became the judge of the reality show ‘Super Dancer’. 

She has the experience of seeing the contestants doing the same hard work in the reality show as she did in the story of the film, which made her emotional. She says, ‘I have cried many times with the parents of ‘Super Dancer’. Because, I lived the same character in the film, which was lived by the contestant of ‘Super Dancer’. I used to see myself in them.’ She says that ‘Ruby’ will always be in her heart.

The director of the film, Rensha Bantawa Rai, said that Jasita had given 3 years of time for ‘I Am Twenty One’. She says, ‘It is not normal for any artist to give time for a single project for 3 years. Jasita has worked very hard to mold herself in the role of ‘Ruby’. I was impressed by her working style.’ He has found Jasita very easy to work with.
