Bipin Karki is one of the actors who is known more by his role than his name in Nepali movies. Actor Karki was recognized by the audience after ‘Jatra’, although he is known for his roles in movies like ‘Loot’, ‘Chadke’, ‘Pashupati Prasad’, ‘Naka’, ‘Hari’. Actor Karki, who has succeeded in making a difference in his character through ‘Jatrai Jatra’, ‘Prasad’, and ‘Selfie King’, has come to the cinema through the stage.
Actor Karki, who played the role of actress Barsha Raut’s husband through the serial ‘Jatra’, readily accepted the offer to become a father in ‘Ke Ghar Ke Dera’. He did not play the role at the request of Dipendra Kumar Khanal, the director who created the character. “Doesn’t the audience believe it? That the decorators could not do better? After such questions were raised, I played the role of Shankhe”, said actor Karki. However, the created character was presented in ‘Phoolbari’.
Along with the role of a retired teacher, he played the role of the uncle of actor Dayahang Rai, who is older than him. At the time of making the movie, I was not sure about the role of the character, but after the screening, it seemed natural. “I try to live the character. I am a character there. That’s why I accept the role easily”, said actor Karki, “Due to technical difficulties, I have not been able to bring the desired character to the screen yet. The audience has gradually started connecting with the characters rather than the actors.”
He has played the role of Baburam, a villager, in the movie ‘Prasad 2’, which is currently showing. Karki informed that although it is the second series of ‘Prasad’, its plot is different. “We have done the job of keeping the trust of the name. We will not disappoint those who liked the first series”, he said. Sushil Paudel wrote the movie based on caste discrimination and mistreatment of women. Directed by Sudarshan Thapa, the film stars Keki Adhikari, Arpan Thapa, Mahesh Tripathi, Prakash Ghimire, Kamalmani Nepal and others.
