Mohan Niraula has won the post of president of Nepal Movie Artists Association, a joint organization of actors who act in Nepali films. He won by defeating his nearest rival Regina Upreti by a margin of 26 votes. Regina got 209 votes while 235 votes fell in favor of Mohan. A total of 468 votes were cast in the election held in the federal capital on Saturday.

Similarly, Sabin Shrestha won as general secretary and Kabita Gelal as vice president, while Shivhari Bairagi won as vice president. Similarly, Rameshwar Burlakoti and Sunil Katuwal won as secretary and Pavitra Acharya was elected unopposed as co-treasurer. Apart from Bairagi from the Regina panel, all the elected office bearers are from the Niraula panel.
Among the members, Sheetal KC has won with the highest number of 302 votes. He won as a member in the previous election as well. The members include Gopal Dhakal ‘Chande’ (287), Uddav Prasad Bhattarai (211), Pawan KC (202), Namrata Kharel (187), Pukar Bhattarai (182), Khushbu Khadka (177), Sarita Radhopadhyay (146), Roshan Shrestha ( 135) and Sameer Lama (133) have also won.
