KATHMANDU, February 4 – Sandeep Lamichhane, the former captain of the Nepal national cricket team, accused of raping a minor, is to be included in the national team and the issue has drawn strong criticism. The protest has been held against the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) for Lamichhane to be included in the squad when a serious case like rape is pending.
On Saturday, young people participated in the project’s demonstration in Maitighar against the CAN decision. Tara Baral, who tried to break up the demonstration, was detained by the police.
