Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane selected for closed training sessions

KATHMANDU, 2 February: The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) player selection committee has also selected Sandeep Lamichhane, former Nepal men’s cricket team, who is facing allegations of child rape and whose case is under trial. .
Lamichhane was selected after the CAN lifted Lamichhane’s suspension.
Previously, the CAN had suspended Lamichhane after he was arrested and accused of raping a minor. The High Court recently approved an order releasing Lamichhane on bail.
According to a committee member, Lamichhane has been selected because Lamichhane is a vital part of the Nepal cricket team.
However, a court petition has been filed with the Supreme Court demanding that Lamichhane be kept in custody.
