Ruler CPN (Maoist Center) wants Ministry of the Interior

KATHMANDU, February 1: The ruling CPN (Maoist Center) prepares to appoint someone from the party to the post of Home Minister.
The incumbent’s meeting and the party’s standing committee meeting held recently already suggested to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal that the new Home Minister should be someone from the party. Now the party is in the mood to keep the Home Office at all costs.
Prime Minister Dahal also met with KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of CPN-UML, a key coalition partner of Prime Minister Dahal on the matter.
It was learned that the two leaders agreed to give some other ministry to the Rashtriya Swatantra Party led by Rabbi Lamichhane.
Earlier, during the formation of the new government after the general elections, Rabi Lamichhane was given the responsibility of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. Later, the Supreme Court threw out Lamichhane’s parliamentary office and declared his Nepali citizenship illegal.
