Roberto Firmino leaves Liverpool

Anfield, March 4: Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino will leave Liverpool at the end of the season as his contract with the club expires.

The 31-year-old joined Liverpool from Hoffenheim in 2015 for £2.9m.

During his time at Anfield, he played a significant role in helping the club win the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and Club World Cup. He played 353 games and scored 107 goals and provided 70 assists for the club.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he wanted Firmino to stay at the club and although the player had been in talks over a new contract, he decided to leave the club.

In addition to muscle injuries, Firmino has comparatively less playing time at the club after the arrival of Diogo Jota, Luis Díaz, Darwin Núñez and Cody Gakpo.
