The deal is still subject to Duran agreeing personal terms, as well as medical and work visas.

A source tells MLSsoccer.com the deal is worth up to $22 million ($18 million up front, plus $4 million in add-ons). Fire will also retain a percentage of sales. The deal could be the second largest outbound transfer in MLS history.

Duran, who just turned 19 in December, had eight goals and three assists in 1,363 minutes (27 appearances; 14 starts) in his lone MLS season for the Fire. The center forward has played three times for the senior Colombian national team and is currently with his U20 team at the South American U20 Championship this month.

The Fire originally purchased Duran from Colombian club Envigado FC in 2021 for $25 million, a deal that would not be completed until the winter of 2022 when Duran turned 18. The forward had nine goals and four assists for Envigado. He was named The GuardianList of Next Generation 2020Highlighting the best talent from around the world in their age group.
