Five days after the death of rock singer and actor Robin Tamang, the funeral was held on Sunday. His last rites were performed at Shobha Bhagwati according to the Tamang tradition at 12:30 in the afternoon. Before the funeral, his body was kept at the Nepal Music and Drama Academy for last respects, where from ministers to common people paid tribute to Tamang.
He died last Tuesday evening at his house in Budhanilkanth, Kathmandu. After that, Tamang’s body was taken to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital Maharajganj for post-mortem. Actor and singer Robin’s last rites were performed on Sunday after his two daughters came to Nepal from France on Saturday evening. His contribution in the field of film and music is considered incomparable.
Robin was born in Singapore as the youngest child of a family active in the British Army. He was inspired by the American singer and musician Jimi Hendrix and the English rock band Deep Purple from London. His latest release is ‘Chhadke 2’, in which he played the role of a villain. He has also worked in Hindi web series ‘The Last Hour’.
Known as the ‘star’ rock singer of Nepal, his many songs like ‘Dum Maro Dum’, ‘Kalpana’, ‘Keta Keti’, ‘Mero Maya’, ‘Thikai Chha’ are famous. He was also good at acting. He has acted in more than two dozen Nepali films including ‘Jai Pashuram’, ‘Badshah Jut’, ‘Chiso Ashtre’, Mukhauta’, ‘Chhadke’, ‘Naka’, ‘One Way’. Especially he was seen in the role of villain.
