The Hindi film ‘Adipurush’ starring ‘Baahubali’ famed actor Prabhas was dragged into controversy even before its release. However, that controversy was only limited to social media. The film has been accused of misrepresenting the Ramayana.
The impact of heated controversy and bad reviews in India has begun to affect the business of the film. The film, which had an aggressive opening of Rs 86 crores, earned decent revenue for the three days of its release. However, the business of the film dropped by 75 percent from the fourth day. On the sixth day of its release, the film earned only Rs 7 crores 50 lakhs. Now there is less chance of the film to rise at the box office.
The maker is worried about the low revenue of the film, which was made on a budget of 600 crores. Meanwhile, the maker has decided to reduce the ticket price for two days to attract the audience to the hall. The production company T-Series has fixed the price of 3D tickets of ‘Adipurush’ for 22nd and 23rd June at 150 rupees. Also, the maker has corrected the controversial dialogues of the film.
Controversy has also raged in Nepal regarding the film. After various municipalities of the country, including Kathmandu, decided to stop the screening of the film, saying that the film contained wrong dialogues about Sita, Manoj Rathi Group’s Nepal distribution company Venkates Entertainment has released the film across the country. The film earned a net of Rs 1 crore 10 lakh 53 thousand in Nepal.
