Nepali film director and actor Akash Adhikari and actress Karisma Manandhar have been conferred with India’s prestigious ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Award 2023’. They received the award at a ceremony held in Mumbai on Sunday evening. The award was given to them in recognition of their long contribution to the Nepali film industry. Dadasaheb Phalke Foundation, considered the father of Indian cinema, has given the award.
“Heaven, I have only heard, have not seen, Heaven is what my country Nepal is. After that, I consider Maharashtra Mumbai as the next heaven, where I got the opportunity to learn the work,” said the director Adhikari while accepting the award. Although the award was supposed to be given in 2022, it was only given now after it was affected due to covid.
