The premiere of the film ‘Halkara’, which is going to be screened from Friday, was held on Wednesday evening at One Cinemas Multiplex in Kathmandu. Celebrities along with the cast and crew were present to watch the social drama film which won awards at various international awards.
Director Bikram Sapkota, actor Mahesh Tripathi, actress Binita Thapa Magar became the attraction at the premiere. MPs Raghuji Pant, Gyanendra Shahi and UML leader Pradeep Gyawali also came to watch the film. They said they liked the movie. Actor Rajan Khatiwada praised the ‘perfect’ Nepali film. Actor Mukun Bhusal said he was attached to the film till he watched it.
The film tells the story of a postman. An unemployed man from the village gets a job as a postman. Then he goes on a journey to another village to distribute letters. He has to face new job responsibilities and challenges in this process. In this process, personal difficulties must also be endured.
Mahesh Tripathi has acted as a postman. The film depicts the social dimension of foreign employment. The film is written and directed by Vikram Sapkota and produced by Ramakrishna Pokharel. ‘Aina Jhyalko Putli’ produced by Pokhrel was nominated for the Oscar award last year.
