Kathmandu- On the occasion of New Year, three important rules are being implemented in the Nepali film and music sector from Baisakh 1. From the new year, the Film Development Board, Technical Association and Movie Dance Association have implemented three important rules, which will affect the Nepali film sector.
Although it was announced earlier, it will be implemented from Friday, so the interest of the film industry has turned towards it. Even if the organization implements these rules, it is not completely without controversy. Some organizations are also opposing the three important rules that came into effect from Friday.
- Technician’s shift system implemented
Movie Technicians Association has implemented shift system from baisakh 1st. According to the rules, the technician has to work in one shift of 12 hours. The manufacturer will have to pay extra wages if they work more than that. NEFTA Chairman Pushkar Lama said that the rules of shift system have been implemented keeping in mind the international practice. Nefta has also asked to take into account the rules of the system while signing the contract before working on the film. It is said that this rule has been introduced keeping in mind the current market of Nepali films.
- The earnings of the film are being released from Baisakh
The Film Development Board has announced that it will publish the official earnings of Nepali films regularly from Baisakh. Last week, the board announced the earnings of 132 films released in the year 2079. From Baisakh, the board will publish the earnings on a monthly basis.
Board Chairman Bhuwan KC said that such rules will benefit everyone from producers to media and citizens. The board brought this arrangement after discussions with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
- Increase in Salary of Movie Dancers
Effective from Baisakh 1st, Movie Dance Association has increased the salary of film and music video dance artists.
The remuneration for film and language film songs has been fixed at Rs 3,000 if completed in one day, Rs 5,000 if completed in two days and Rs 6,000 if completed in three days. Music video dancers will be paid Rs 2,000 per day and foreign film dancers will be paid Rs 3,000 per day. It is said that the salary is determined according to the latest market conditions.
