Kathmandu- Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s upcoming film ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ has sparked a controversy over the new song ‘Yantama’. It is alleged that South Indian culture has been insulted in this song. Former Indian cricketer Laxman Sivaramakrishnan expressed his anger over the song. He protested that the lungi worn by Salman in this song was not washed. He has also alleged that he is wearing traditional South Indian dress and doing objectionable dance steps in the song.
The song ‘Yantama’ was released last Wednesday. South star Venkatesh Daggubati and Ramcharan are also seen in the song. In this song, Salman is dancing with a lungi. Lungi is a traditional dress of South India. Right now South cricketers to artists are protesting on this issue. Former cricketer Sivaramakrishnan wrote, “This is extremely insulting and ridiculous. An attempt has been made to show this traditional dress in a very bad way.
Talking to the Times of India, a Tamil artist has questioned whether the song was made under the influence of drugs. The manufacturer knows how important lungi is for South India. If we talk about Salman, we can say that he did not know. But Venkatesh and Ramcharan are from South India. How can he dance in this song and first of all it is not even a lungi but a dhoti worn like a lungi,” he wrote.
A filmmaker who has worked with Salman has said that Salman does not listen to anyone but himself in his films and does not want to understand the reality. He said, “Salman does not listen to anyone, he does what he wants.” Even when someone tries to correct a mistake, Salman does not listen.
The song has mixed Hindi and Telugu lyrics. The song has vocals by singer-composer Vishal Dadlani and Payal Dev, lyrics by Raftaar and music by Sabbir Ahmed. This song is somewhat similar to the lungi dance of Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Chennai Express’.
‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ will be released on 8th Baisakh on the occasion of Eid. Salman is making a comeback in films after a long time. The film also stars Venkatesh Daggubati, Pooja Hegde, Raghav Juyal, Shehnaz Gill and Siddharth Nigam.
