KATHMANDU: In the Prime Minister’s Cup Tri-National Football Competition, Nepal is off to a good start. Nepal began the campaign on a winning note by defeating Laos 2-0 in the first game.
For Nepal, goals were scored by Navayug Shrestha and Anant Tamang.
Anant Tamang scored the first goal with a header from Naveen Lama’s corner in the 31st minute. Similarly, in the 56th minute, Nepal increased its lead to 2-0 when Navyug Shrestha scored another outstanding goal on a half-volley from 35 yards away. For the national squad, Navuyug scored his first goal in two years and his eighth international goal overall. He had earlier scored in a 2021 World Cup qualifying game against Chinese Taipei.
