Actress Rani Mukherjee’s film ‘Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway’ and famous comedian Kapil Sharma’s film ‘Zwigato’, which were released this Friday, have been like earthquakes of two magnitudes at the domestic box office. It seems that both the films will not raise even a third of the investment. These two films have been given the tag of ‘flop’ by the Indian media.
Rani’s film has collected more than 8 crores in five days of release, while Kapil’s ‘Zwigato’ has collected 3 crores at the box office. The collections of both were poor from the first day of the show. ‘Zwigato’ was made at a cost of 10 crores, while the budget of ‘Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway’ is 25 crores. Both the films have received favorable reviews despite the weak earnings.
Directed by Ashima Chhabbra, ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ is based on the story of a mother, who lives in Norway with her two children and husband. However, one day such an event happens, which changes everything. Mrs. Chatterjee (Rani Mukherjee) is said to be a bad mother and her children are taken away from her. After this, the film shows how her fight to get her child begins.
Similarly, Kapil, who is preferred in comedy roles, is appearing in a serious role in ‘Zwigato’. However, the collection of films shows that the audience did not like him in serious roles. However, the film has been screened at Toronto International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival and International Film Festival of Kerala. The film is directed by Nandita Das.
