The Nepal Congress (NC) will join the government only after Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal takes the test on the floor.
Prime Minister Dahal is constitutionally bound to seek a floor test again after CPN-UML and RPP left the government following the decision of NC, CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and CPN (Unified Socialist) to revive the pre-election coalition. He plans to seek a floor test before March 22.
“The discussion on NC joining the government will take place only after the prime minister approves the test,” NC spokesman Prakash Sharan Mahat said, speaking to reporters after the big party’s central working committee meeting. on Wednesday.
The gathering congratulated Ram Chandra Paudel on becoming the country’s third president and thanked all parties for helping the NC candidate get elected as head of state.
NC also discussed the vice presidential election scheduled for Friday and decided to instruct all its federal and provincial lawmakers to vote for JSP joint coalition candidate Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, according to Mahat.
He also discussed the by-elections to be held in Chitwan-2 and Tanahu-1.
