KATHMANDU, March 13 – Nepal beat Papua New Guinea (PNG) by nine wickets in the third match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 on Monday.
Earlier, by winning the toss, Nepal had chosen to bowl first. Star bowler Sandeep Lamichhane of Nepal took five wickets restricting PNG to 95 runs in an all-wicket loss in 32 overs.
In response, Nepal chased down the target in 7.4 overs in the loss of a wicket.
With this victory, Nepal’s total score stands at 38 playing 35 matches. If Nepal wins one more game, the team will directly qualify for the World Cup.
