The second edition of ‘Nepal Rural Film Festival’, which started last year with the aim of bringing Nepali films to the rural market, will be held in the last week of next Baisakh. The venue for the second edition of the festival, which was held in Laprak in Gorkha district last year, has not yet been decided. The name of the venue of the festival will be announced soon, according to the organizing organization Celebrity Nepal.
The organizing organization has informed that the film registration has also been opened for participation in the festival in which films made on Nepali original and rural stories will participate. Indigenous feature and short films, documentaries and vernacular films made in the village environment will participate in the festival. The best films will be screened and awarded by the jury team.
Raghunath Sapkota, the head of Celebrity Nepal, said that the main objective of the festival is to attract the audience to original Nepali films and to make them habit of watching films regularly, to promote the language, art, culture and tourism of the local area.
